The Joy Group was established to provide
needs-based training programs to companies big and small, within a variety
of industries. With a background in both sales and management development
issues, The Joy Group helps clients realize their company's potential
both organizationally and financially.
With more than 30 years of combined experience in the training and sales
fields, The Joy Group's team provides thoughtful, strategic, and on-trend
counsel to its clients. No matter the size or scope of the project,
each client's needs are assessed independently and provided with a tailored
training approach.
William D. Joy
President
Energetic, Strategic, Approachable. These
words are often used to describe Bill Joy. For more than a decade, Bill
has been a much sought-after consultant to organizations in a wide variety
of industries - both big and small.
Prior to establishing his consulting career, Bill held internal training
positions at some of the nation's biggest companies including Dow Chemical
USA and United Insurance Company.
In 1999, Bill co-founded The Joy Group with a clear vision: to help
build organizational talent nationwide through strategic, on-trend training
and development initiatives. With a strong background and passion for
organizational development, Bill joins his partner and wife, Jo, in
creating customized training sessions for a wide array of clients. The
Joy Group's ultimate goal is to help enhance their clients' corporate
cultures and - most importantly - meet their clients' business objectives.
Bill's expertise lies in both management and leadership development
with a strong focus on coaching, team communication, and performance
management. He is known for his skill in program development and facilitation
and creates training sessions that are described as "trusting,"
"innovative," "relaxed" and "fun."
Bill attended Indiana University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts
in Chemistry. He earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Development
and Behavior from Loyola University of Chicago. Bill has also received
professional training at the Gestalt Institute of Chicago.
Bill is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Wilson Learning
Social Style and the Performax Personal Profile.
An experienced chef and dedicated "soccer dad," Bill enjoys
a busy family life in Wheaton,
Illinois with his wife, daughter Emma and son Brooks.
Jo Joy
Principal
Jo Joy has a true passion for the art of the
sale. As co-founder and principal of The Joy Group, Jo brings more than
six years of sales consulting experience to the table. Prior to establishing
her sales consulting career, Jo spent 12 years in outside sales and
management positions in the medical industry working for HealthChicago,
Ethicon Inc. and Ethicon Endosurgery, and Medtronic, Inc.
Known for her high-energy approach to training, Jo is dedicated to creating
the best sales approaches by sharing her thorough understanding of the
selling cycle. She specializes in sales force development with a focus
on consultative selling skills, account penetration strategies, sales
negotiations, and one-on-one sales coaching.
In 1999, Jo co-founded The Joy Group with a clear vision; to help build
organizational talent nationwide through strategic, on-trend training
and development initiatives. With her strong expertise in the sales
industry, Jo joins her partner and husband, Bill in creating customized
training sessions for a wide array of clients. The Joy Group's ultimate
goal is to help enhance their clients' corporate cultures and - most
importantly - meet their clients' business objectives.
Jo is highly recognized for her practical, "real life" applications
of selling skills and strategies as well as her ability to understand
and customize her training to meet the customer's unique selling environment.
She enjoys sharing her knowledge and transferring sales skills to The
Joy Groups' training participants in a fun, approachable manner.
Jo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Indiana University
and has obtained numerous certifications and accreditation's from AchiveGlobalTM
professional development courses.
Jo is a voracious reader and dedicated runner. She lives in Wheaton,
Illinois with her husband, daughter Emma and son Brooks.
